Really Bad Blues Lyrics
You make my heart beat deep; I’m in a marathon.
You make my heart beat deep, runnin’ a marathon.
It makes my soul jus’ weep and I run on and on.
You make my heart catch fire, the kindlin’s all ablaze.
You make my heart catch fire, the kindlin’s all ablaze.
It lights up my desire until I’m burned away.
You make my heart think twice, each time you turn and go.
You make my heart think twice, each time you up and go.
You come back half for spite, an’ half to watch me glow.
You make my heart beat deep; I’m in a marathon.
You make my heart beat deep, runnin’ a marathon.
It makes my soul jus’ weep and I run on and on.
You make my heart go cold whenever Ma Bell rings.
You make my heart so cold whenever Ma Bell rings.
I’ve gone and broke the phone; Ma Bell ain’t gonna sing.
You make my heart like ice, you chill me to the core.
You make my heart turn t’ice, I’m chilled down to the core.
Now my poor heart’s broke like it shattered on the floor.
You made my heart beat deep; I ran a marathon.
You made my heart beat deep, runnin’ a marathon.
And now your soul will weep; I’m done an’ I’m long gone.

THIS was hard. I really can’t believe how long it took. Originally, it was going to be three 3-line stanzas, but then it took on a life of its own.

I can hear the rhythm section.
Regards,
They were in my head the whole time. Wouldn’t leave me alone. Kept asking for cigarettes and cash for more beer. I had to pay them off just so they’d leave me alone long enough to finish these lyrics. … musicians.
Yep…all in for the booze and babes…
I don’t normally do prompts but browsing others I read a couple, and then yours using the blues song prompt. I didn’t know the particulars but I gave it a shot….must admit I had fun.
