It has been a snarky, snarky day. Today.

It’s like I had a lemon stuck between my lips–
Like someone had a grip inside the muscles in my neck.
My stomach was all knotted.
My teeth were clenched,
Jaw stiff.

Finally it’s over. The day has gone away.
The time has brought a new day; I can lay the snark to rest.
My forehead scrunched no more now.
My eyes can close
For sleep.

It will be a better, better day. Today.
